German tuner Mansory is back in the spotlight with another gorgeous tuning package carried out this time on the high-end Cullinan Series II from Rolls-Royce. The project is called the Mansory Emperor and involves heavy carbon fiber elements around the luxury car`s exterior.

It is already an ultra-luxury SUV, but Mansory does not like to leave things as they are. In this, the tuner redesigned the front end, featuring an uprighter fascia and dual side air intakes in the bumper, and included a full aerodynamic package finished in high-gloss forged carbon fiber. The material of the hood is the same, and the gray exterior is contrasted with the pieces of forged carbon that are revealed.

That outer treatment is only part of the story. Open the doors, and the color theme shifts hard toward orange, because the Mansory Atelier interior is finished in orange leather and matched with more carbon-fiber trim. The whole build is clearly meant to make a statement, and subtlety was never invited to the meeting.

The visual drama continues lower down. Mansory fitted the SUV with 24-inch FC.15 concave gloss black alloy wheels, a size that leaves little doubt about the intended effect. There is also a high-performance sports exhaust system with flap control, offered in two versions, meant to back up the harder-edged appearance with a soundtrack to suit. The forged wheels and exhaust setup are joined by a few more finishing details, all part of what Mansory describes as the complete Atelier edition.

And yes, there is a power increase. A standard Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II Black Badge uses a twin-turbo V12 rated at 591 horsepower. Mansory decided that was not enough and pushed output to 720 horsepower and 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft) of torque. For a vehicle of this size and class, those numbers are not small. Not even close.

There is an interesting contrast here. Mansory sometimes creates modified models that remain recognizable while becoming dramatically more extravagant at the same time, and this Cullinan fits that description perfectly. It remains pretty much a Rolls-Royce, however, with an amazing body kit that only Mansory could do.

For anyone who finds the Emperor too much, Rolls-Royce itself has recently offered a different interpretation of exclusivity. The company introduced the Cullinan Yachting Collection, a highly limited run of just four ultra-luxury SUVs. Each one is dedicated to one of the four cardinal points on a compass and receives exclusive treatments inside and out.

Still, if the question is whether the Mansory Emperor goes far enough, the answer is obvious. It does not merely tweak the Cullinan Series II Black Badge; it overwhelms it.
