Alpha-N Reworks the BMW M2 F87 Into a Track-Focused Corse Build

Alpha-N returned to the first BMW M2 and pushed the F87 far beyond factory form. The German tuner built a Corse version around the earlier coupe, using a long list of carbon-fiber exterior parts and a layout aimed at track use rather than daily comfort.

BMW once explored an M2 CSL during the F87 years, though the project stopped at one single example. Alpha-N now moves into that space with its own interpretation. A related conversion already exists for the newer G87, while the earlier car now receives equal attention.

The green example shown in this build leaves little untouched. Rear seats are gone. A roll cage fills the back section instead, changing the cabin into a stripped two-seat setup. Outside, the front section carries a spoiler lip fixed directly to the chassis. Below that sits an adjustable splitter, shaped for circuit work and tuned according to track layout.

Airflow changes continue along the sides. Fresh side inlets route air toward the brake-cooling ducts, helping temperature control under repeated load. The front grille also changes shape, though function matters more here because Alpha-N uses the revised opening to support cooling around the engine bay.

The turbocharged inline-six breathes through a new hood layout. A U-shaped outlet sits in the panel and releases hot air upward. Along both front fenders, GT3-style louvers open extra exit points. They also alter the side profile in a way no standard M2 does.

At the rear, Alpha-N adds a swan-neck wing with adjustable settings. The design follows the same practical direction seen at the front. Downforce and cooling dominate the package, not visual balance alone.

A second car appears in white, with M-colored accents replacing the bright green finish. Alpha-N uses this one to show another direction for the same Corse conversion. Buyers also reach further with optional hardware. Öhlins supplies a TTX suspension package, while forged F-ONE wheels complete the exterior setup.

The first M2 left production in 2021, though tuner interest has not faded. Around 60,000 units came out during the full production cycle. Germany received 20 percent of output. The United States followed with 19 percent. The United Kingdom and China each took 11 percent, while Japan accounted for 6 percent.

Years later, workshops still return to the F87. Alpha-N makes clear why.
