BMW put the latest M5 into customer hands during 2024, and discussion around the car has stayed unsettled since the first deliveries. The G90 sedan and G99 Touring arrived with a shape many drivers still question, while the technical sheet brought another subject into focus almost at once, mass.

The number attached to this generation reaches 4,345 pounds, or 2,445 kilograms. In the source material, the comparison goes as far as certain Ford F-150 pickups. Such weight comes from the new plug-in-hybrid layout placed under the body, introduced with fuel use and carbon dioxide targets in mind.

BMW kept the familiar 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, though now linked with electrified support. Combined output stands at 717 horsepower, with 535 kW and 727 ps listed beside the same figure. Torque reaches 738 pound-feet, equal to 1,000 Nm.

Acceleration still stays strong. The sprint to 62 miles per hour takes 3.4 seconds, matching 100 kph. Yet older versions still sit ahead. The source marks half a second between this result and the M5 CS, while the regular F90 M5 stays three-tenths quicker.

Mercedes-AMG no longer fields the E 63 in this class, so BMW currently moves without its long-standing direct rival.

This black example shifts attention toward appearance rather than figures. Dark paint covers nearly every visible surface, and on this body shape, the finish changes how the car reads at first glance. Some lines disappear more easily, especially across the front and side sections.

The aftermarket work stays visible without replacing the full identity of the car. A front chin spoiler extends low under the bumper. The source notes its outline leans close to a snow-plow shape. Along the lower sides, added skirts continue the package, while a fresh rear skirt changes the lower back section.

The body package comes from @r44performance. Wheels come from Vossen, using the HF-9 pattern finished in glossy black. Their color keeps the monochrome theme intact rather than creating contrast.

Tinted side glass supports the same direction. BMW anniversary emblems sit front and rear, and Vossen branding stays visible at wheel center level.

This exact M5 surfaced online through @vossen. No engine change appears in the source material, no brake revision either. The visual package does all the work here, with black doing part of the job on its own.
