The BMW XM has never been a subtle machine. Even in factory form, the large performance SUV already delivers serious power. Yet for tuners, “serious” rarely means “enough,” and G-Power appears determined to prove that point once again.

The German tuner has developed several upgrade packages for BMW’s standalone XM model, and the most extreme of them is named GP-1000. This label hints at the massive power upgrade that the model received from the famous German-based tuner.

The power upgrade, when converted into other units, is 986 brake horsepower, which translates to 736 kilowatts and the torque also rises to 922 pound-feet, which translates to an astounding 1,250 Nm of torque. These figures put our XM SUV in the supercar territory.

This power upgrade is massive, if we were to compare it with the SUV`s standard numbers – 644 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. Not even the higher version XM Label can match those numbers with 737 horsepower and 1,000 Nm of torque.

The price for that extreme jump is listed at €28,322 in Germany. At the exchange rate referenced in the article, that equals $33,371. Not exactly pocket change, though in the context of high-end performance upgrades, it may still look reasonable to some buyers.

G-Power doesn’t stop at a single configuration, however. Customers who settle for less power can also choose the tuner`s GP-900 package, which means 900 metric horsepower; translating this measurement, it means 887 brake horsepower or 662 kilowatts. Torque, in this case, stands at 1,150 Nm of torque, or 848 pound-feet. The whole package will settle the deal at €17,017, or the equivalent of $20,051.

And there is, of course, the least powerful package that G-Power is also making available, the GP-850, which pushes output to 838 horsepower/850 ps, and 811 pound-feet or 1,100 Nm of torque. For this package, you will have to empty your pocket for around €9,282, equivalent to roughly $10,937.

As for prices, in the US alone, the BMW XM Label comes with a factory suggested retail price of $159,600, which makes it a bit more expensive than the 2026 X6 M, which is available at $136,100. On the other hand, the X5 M is priced at $11,000. Add the costs of the three power packages by G-Power, and you have yourself some extremely powerful and expensive XM models.

That being said, the XM has never really been positioned as the practical choice in BMW’s lineup. Instead, it aims to stand out as the brand’s most distinctive high-performance SUV. With upgrades like the GP-1000, it becomes something else entirely — a luxury SUV capable of producing four-digit horsepower.
